Mujeres Sembrando la Vida: The MSV artisans need you

Greetings!  I hope you are well and enjoying the holiday season!

You can be part of the excitement by helping the MSV artisans grow their business by donating today!

The name Mujeres Sembrando la Vida— “Women Sowing Life,” describes the artisans' collective vision of planting seeds and setting an example of economic, educational, and ecological opportunities in Zinacantán and surrounding villages.

The cooperative is certified by the Fair Trade Federation. That means the artisans can earn fair wages while working from home. Additional income for families means men are not forced to migrate to ensure the survival of their families and children are able to stay in school longer.

Most of the artisans don’t read or write and often barely speak Spanish. The villages where the artisans live are designated as areas of extreme poverty by the United Nations. That means that all the money they earn from their MSV products are invested into urgent family needs.

The MSV artisans are steadfastly loyal to one another and to their communities and contribute 5% of their profits to the artisans' health fund and 5% to the Yo’onik Community Learning Center with education enrichment for K-6 and scholarships for 7-12 and university students.

We need less than $2,000 to complete the MSV Investment Fund for 2022.

Thanks,
