Natik: ED NOVEMBER 2022: Gratitude begins with you!
I hope you are well and honoring your sacred spaces. ✨🌟✨
November is our month of gratitude and I’d like to start with how grateful I am for YOU!
Just opening this email means that you care enough to pay attention to Natik in the midst of everything you have going on in your life right now. Your moral support is a gift that keeps giving. Thank you for being with us on this journey!
Emerson said: An ounce of action is worth a ton of theory. I couldn't agree more, and have learned that the fastest path to learning is experience accompanied by an insatiable curiosity about whatever the experience requires me to know. We can all be grateful that the extended Natik family wholeheartedly shares that philosophy. Our individual learning curves are as steep as we can manage, and our collective capacity for learning and sharing what we know is becoming exponential.
As you can imagine, fundraising for multiple grassroots organizations has its challenges. Especially when you consider that our goal is to help our partners achieve greater independence. They need enough real-world experience in the art of fundraising in order to break their dependence on people from outside of their organizations to continue serving their communities through programs in education, health, and sustainable livelihoods. Along with several hundred other things that they must learn, we all know that fundraising is a key component of long-term autonomy and sustainability.
Just as I was wondering what the next step in our Partner Fundraising Training would be, DonorSee reached out. They offered to help us navigate their system of crowdfunding that is becoming a popular philanthropical platform for millennials and younger. Our partners still need considerable accompaniment to keep the $1-$20-dollar donations flowing, but they have learned so much in the past six months that it’s easy to imagine that eventually they’ll be able to manage most of it independently. (Fist bump and a grateful happy dance on that one! 😊)
Our assimilation of Pueblo a Pueblo as a new partner is a source of continual gratitude. They are a remarkable team and we are honored to collaborate with them as they thoughtfully shift gears into greater autonomy as a community-based organization. The variety of lessons learned by all of us during Natik’s transition into a relationship of support for the Guatemala-PaP team while simultaneously accompanying the U.S.-PaP Board as they transition out feels like we’re all earning advanced degrees in International Grassroots Development!
Finally, my gratitude for the Natik team, which is a blessing beyond measure. Our capacity to multiply the impact of your financial support is directly related to their practical, everyday efficacy and team spirit. Each is good at what they do and we work well together. As always, thanks for being part of our story of love and learning!
