Natik: Natik’s giving Tuesday message

Natik helps grassroots organizations to transform the future of their communities through education, health, and sustainable livelihoods. Below are a couple of stories I’d like to share with you.

Mariela does whatever she can to help her husband generate some income since she dreads the idea of him having to migrate, leaving her and their two children alone. She gratefully attends the mother-infant preventative health sessions offered by Pueblo a Pueblo since her mother died of emphysema from cooking over open fires her whole life. Mariela immediately applies the concepts she learns in class and always has lots of questions. She even started her own little garden so her family will have fresh organic greens to complement their beans and tortillas.

Daniel’s father is a field hand and his mother takes in laundry. Their home has dirt floors and walls made of the bark-covered edges of logs. His mother cooks with firewood that Daniel and his sister help collect. Daniel is always the first to show up and the last to leave the Yo’onik after school education program. He loves learning and is always happy to share what he knows with younger children. He and his parents are determined to do whatever it takes so he can stay in school long enough to become a teacher.

These are only two examples out of the hundreds of lives that your generosity makes possible.

A donation today in any amount helps transform the future of every person that our partner organizations touch.

Thanks for being part of our journey,
