Ruk’ux Scholarship: Our celebration for Valentine’s Day!

Day of Affection

Valentine's Day in Guatemala is a very special date, because it not only commemorates the month of love and friendship, but it is a month where people perform different activities to live together, share and enjoy a special moment with friends, colleagues and people close to them.

Every February in Santiago Atitlán, schools, churches, organizations and other institutions celebrate this activity to show that love, affection and appreciation for another person is everyday.

On this special date, some people exchange gifts, prepare some socializing and then enjoy a delicious meal, either: ceviche, grilled meat, churrasco and other traditional foods.

Our Ruk'u'x team matches with this activity, since every year we carry out small activities with our colleagues, either exchanging gifts or preparing a meal or snack.

In previous years we had a social event where we went to play soccer and enjoy some playful activities, we all laughed, ran and at the end we were preparing and enjoying a delicious ceviche, it was a day of great fun for everyone.

On other occasions we exchanged gifts with our companions, to remember that this date is to show affection, appreciation and special thanks to all our Ruk'u'x companions.

This and other activities show that the Ruk'u'x team remains united and demonstrates that together we can achieve the goals and objectives of special people.
