ANADESA: Participation of women in our projects

WOMEN'S PARTICIPATION

In society, women are vulnerable to domestic violence and above all to being limited in their participation in social activities, as well as not being given as much importance in meetings and in sharing their opinions.

In committees or any other communal group, only men are allowed to participate, because according to them, women have to fulfill their domestic duties and for a woman to meet with men is a source of shame, and this ideology has been carried into the present.

Currently there is a struggle in which the right of women to have a voice and vote in any community assembly is being defended. There is already a change in terms of leadership and active participation in women, both socially, politically and religiously.

For example, some have the privilege of leading a religious group, and we are seeing some women forming part of parents' committees in schools, women participating in workshops and training, and groups for savings. Even those who do not know how to read or write are being taught to read and write for personal and family development.

"The woman is one of the most valuable elements in every sense and process of life, starting with the formation of a family. Without women there would be no continuation of life and there would be neither the smallest community nor the largest country in the world". Life starts from and with her!
