Yo’onik Learning Center: Students and leaders

Students today, leaders tomorrow. 

We're excited to let you know that on June 9th, our online fundraiser begins. The goal is to raise $5,000 in order to cover seven scholarships from secondary through university. 

The students coordinate with a mentor-supervisor to help elementary school children strengthen reading comprehension and other basic studies in Tsotsil Maya.

The children and adolescents are encouraged to honor their traditions while thinking critically, and to express their thoughts and feelings with confidence.  

During the 10 days of the campaign, we'll share short videos of students talking about their lives and their work in the community.

The students have interesting stories, and we'll make it easy for you to click onto our facebook or instagram accounts to see the videos. We hope you'll be inspired to donate!
